Gifts of Recovery

April 25, 2019

Today I am 12 days clean and 9 days smoke free.

I need never hide from reality by using drugs again, for my unity with other recovering addicts gives me strength.

Today the support, the care, and the empathy of recovery gives me a clean, clear window through which to view, experience, and appreciate reality as it is.

A gift of my recovery is living and enjoying life as it truly is.

Today, I will embrace reality.

Just for Today I promise not to use.

I left the hateful rhetoric of Facebook to come here to carry a message of hope and healing I'm in recovery from addiction and rebuilding a life filled with purpose and creativity. Whether I'm playing the piano, baking, gardening, or knitting, I’ve found healing in the simple, meaningful moments. Buzz Kill Diaries is where I share honest reflections on recovery - one day at a time.
